This 13-day itinerary is a comprehensive exploration of Kerinci Seblat National Park, covering both challenging treks and cultural immersion. The adventure begins with a journey to the national park’s core, followed by two major trekking highlights: summiting Mount Kerinci (Indonesia’s highest volcano) and hiking to the beautiful caldera lake, Danau Gunung Tujuh. The remainder of the trip focuses on deep rainforest exploration for wildlife spotting (including the elusive Sumatran Tiger habitat), visiting local Minangkabau and Kerinci villages, and exploring vast tea plantations before returning.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN PADANG – BUKITTINGGI

Upon arrival at Minangkabau International Airport in Padang, you will be greeted by our tour guide and begin the scenic drive to Bukittinggi, the cultural heart of West Sumatra. Arrival at Bukittinggi, continue to visit Panorama Sianok Canyon, Big Ben “land mark of Bukittinggi” and market. Then check in to your hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 02: BUKITTTINGGI – KERINCI HIGHLANDS

After breakfast, begin the overland journey to Kerinci Highlands via Muara Labuh. Along the way, stop at the stunning Twin Lakes (Lake Diatas and Lake Dibawah), surrounded by beautiful landscapes and traditional Minangkabau villages. Continue the drive to visit the impressive Telun Berasap Waterfall and pass through vast tea plantations, offering spectacular mountain views.

DAY 03: KERSIK TUO – LAKE GUNUNG TUJUH

A highlight of the journey is the chance to stop and see the Rafflesia Arnoldii, the world’s largest flower, which can occasionally be found blooming in this area. Known for its massive size and rarity, spotting this unique plant is a once-in-a-lifetime experience (please note: viewing is only possible if the flower is in bloom).
