DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN PADANG – BUKITTINGGI

Upon arrival at Minangkabau International Airport in Padang, you will be greeted by our tour guide and begin the scenic drive to Bukittinggi, the cultural heart of West Sumatra. In the afternoon, check in to your hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 02: MINANGKABAU HIGHLANDS TOUR

Today’s tour reveals the fascinating heritage of the Minangkabau people, renowned for their matrilineal society and unique pointed-roof architecture. Highlights include:

• A scenic drive to Batusangkar via Tabek Patah, with a stop at Rao-Rao village to see a traditional settlement.
• A visit to a traditional coffee milling site, where coffee is still processed using old techniques.
• Pagaruyung Palace, an impressive replica of the royal palace of the Minangkabau Kingdom, richly decorated with carvings.
• A stop at Pandai Sikek, a village known for its exquisite hand-woven songket textiles and fine woodcarvings.

Back in Bukittinggi, return to hotel.

DAY 03: BUKITTINGGI – MANINJAU + BUKITTINGI TOUR

After breakfast drive to Maninjau passing the fantastic road of “Kelok 44” with its 44 hairpins curve. Stop at Ambun Pagi (to see the view of Lake Maninjau), arriving at Lake Maninjau, enjoying the nature and panorama of the lake, walking to the village or to the beach. Afteroon return to Bukittinggi on the way visit Koto Gadang Village (to see traditional silver work).
Arrival at Bukittinggi, continue to visit Panorama Sianok Canyon, Big Ben “land mark of Bukittinggi” and market. Afterwards return to hotel.

DAY 04: BUKITTINGGI – EXPLORE LOCAL PEOPLE LIFE

After breakfast, enjoy a cultural immersion by visiting several traditional villages around Bukittinggi. Here, you will witness authentic daily farming activities such as rice planting in the paddies, farmers working the fields with the help of water buffalo, and if in season joining the local community during rice harvesting.
This hands-on experience offers a deeper understanding of Minangkabau rural life. During the visit, you will also be treated to a local snack, such as fried tapioca or fried banana, freshly prepared in a villager’s home.

DAY 05: BUKITTINGGI – PADANG / AIRPORT
