Tour Itinerary:
DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN MEDAN – JOURNEY TO BUKIT LAWANG
Upon arrival at Kualanamu International Airport, you will be welcomed by our tour guide and begin your scenic journey to Bukit Lawang, the gateway to Gunung Leuser National Park. Along the drive, enjoy views of lush countryside and stop at several plantations to see rubber and palm oil production, two of the region’s most important commodities. The journey takes you through rural landscapes, and local villages before reaching the edge of the rainforest.
Arrive in Bukit Lawang, a riverside village famous for its orangutan and trekking opportunities. After check-in at your hotel, the rest of the day is free to relax, explore the village, or enjoy the peaceful atmosphere by the river in preparation for tomorrow’s jungle adventure.

DAY 02: JUNGLE TREKKING IN GUNUNG LEUSER NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast at the lodge, begin your jungle trekking adventure deep into Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the last remaining tropical rainforests in Sumatra and part of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra. Your experienced local guide will lead you through narrow jungle trails surrounded by towering trees, exotic plants, and the sounds of the wild. Along the way, there is a high chance of spotting Sumatran orangutans in their natural habitat, as well as other fascinating wildlife such as Thomas leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, gibbons, black gibbons, reptiles, hornbills, and a variety of tropical bird species. The guide will also introduce you to the diverse flora of the rainforest, including medicinal plants and giant hardwood trees.
At midday, enjoy a Picnic lunch in the jungle before continuing deeper into the forest. In the
late afternoon, arrive at a campsite where you will spend the night in a simple tent or jungle shelter.
Experience the unique atmosphere of the rainforest after dark, with the symphony of insects and
the calming flow of the nearby river.

DAY 03: FULL-DAY TREKKING & RETURN TO BUKIT LAWANG

Wake up to the refreshing sounds of the jungle and enjoy a simple breakfast prepared by your guide before setting off on another day of jungle exploration in Gunung Leuser National Park. Today’s trek takes you along winding forest trails where you can continue to encounter semi wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, hornbills, and countless other wildlife species in their natural rainforest habitat. As you walk deeper into the forest, your guide will point out fascinating plants and explain the ecosystem of this protected national park. You’ll stop midday to enjoy a Picnic lunch in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by the towering trees and natural soundtrack of the rainforest.
In the afternoon, the trek gradually leads back toward Bukit Lawang village. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure perhaps relaxing by the Bohorok River or sharing stories with fellow travelers.

DAY 04: BUKIT LAWANG – FREE DAY TO RELAX OR EXPLORE
After breakfast at your guesthouse or lodge, enjoy a full day of leisure in Bukit Lawang, the famous gateway to Gunung Leuser National Park. This is your time to relax by the riverside, take a refreshing swim, or simply soak up the jungle atmosphere from your balcony. For those who want to explore more, you can take a leisurely walk through nearby villages and plantations, meet friendly locals, and see traditional ways of life. Photography lovers will find many beautiful spots, from the suspension bridge crossing the Bohorok River to panoramic views of the
surrounding rainforest. Or you can book optional experiences “Becak and bicycle trip at bukit lawang“

DAY 05: BUKIT LAWANG – MEDAN CITY TOUR
After breakfast, enjoy some free time at leisure in Bukit Lawang. You may take a refreshing swim in the Bohorok River, stroll through the local village, or simply relax in the peaceful jungle setting. Later, drive back to Medan, North Sumatra’s bustling capital. Upon arrival, begin a Medan city tour with visits to some of its cultural highlights:
- Chinese Temple (Vihara Gunung Timur): one of the largest Chinese temples in Sumatra, known for its colorful decorations and cultural significance.
- Maimun Palace (Istana Maimun): the historic royal palace of the Sultan of Deli, showcasing Malay, Mughal, and European influences.
- The Great Mosque (Mesjid Raya Al-Mashun): an architectural masterpiece and one of the most important landmarks in Medan.
After the tour, check in to your hotel in Medan.

DAY 06: DEPARTURE FROM MEDAN
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy free time until your scheduled transfer to Kualanamu International Airport for your onward flight.
